ETSI are recruiting a new Director to head up their Centre for Testing and Interoperability (CTI), managing a team of ten, with responsibility for the development and implementation of ETSI testing, methodology & validation activities and for the ETSI Interoperability activities, under the ETSI ‘Plugtests’ banner.

3GPP is a regular beneficiary of the CTI work, not least as our industry leading experts (TF160) – working on the conformance test specifications for LTE and 5G equipment – are embedded in the CTI team.

Full list of duties:

  • Develop and drive the ETSI’s testing and validation activities in support of the overall ETSI strategy
  • Management of interoperability events (PlugtestsTM), hackathons and similar activities
  • Oversee the technical activities of ETSI Specialist Task Forces (STF) on testing
  • Drive the CTI team development in terms of innovation, methodology and best practice to meet present and future needs
  • Development of Open Source activities related to standardization
  • Organization of Workshops related to testing

In Addition to testing, the CTI Director oversees the development and adoption of best practices (methodology) for the future development of ETSI standards.

About the role:

  • Operations Division in the ETSI Secretariat.
  • Team based in Sophia Antipolis, French Riviera
  • Permanent contract

Person Profile

The ETSI site lists the following details:

  • 15+ years experience in managing ICT Testing and Interoperability services
  • Strong international experience and network in telecommunications/IT – combined with strong standardisation experience
  • Engineering/technical degree – preferably combined with commercial experience
  • Track record of building and leading a successful ICT testing and/or interoperability function
  • Analytical, results oriented and a strong team player
  • Proven management skills
  • Excellent English language skills – both oral and written
  • The assigned missions involve travelling in France and abroad
