Core Network & Terminals – Election Result

The CT TSG of 3GPP has elected a new Chairman during their 67th Plenary meeting, in Shanghai this week.

The full election result is that Georg Mayer (Huawei) is elected to the post of Chairman, Martin Dolly (AT&T) is re-elected Vice Chairman with Nigel Berry (Alcatel-Lucent) and Atsushi Minokuchi (NTT DOCOMO) elected as new Vice Chairmen of the group.

Mr. Mayer is a Senior Standards Manager at Huawei Technologies and is the serving 3GPP CT1 Working Group Chairman, so brings a high level of experience and expertise to his new role - gained over more than 15 years of participation in the Core Network groups within 3GPP.

The TSG Core Network and Terminals (TSG CT) is responsible for specifying terminal interfaces (logical and physical), terminal capabilities (such as execution environments) and the Core network part of 3GPP systems.
