New Business Models and Enhanced User Experience

Wednesday, December 2, 2015 (13:00 Eastern Time)

ATIS are to host a 5G webinar that will challenge the traditional consensus seeking model for gathering requirements. ‘5G Reimagined’ will focus on use cases for maximizing the Quality of Experience (QOE) and look at innovative new business models, including the potential for sponsored data subscriptions, that may have a major impact on wireless network operation.

Standardization and Open Source

Sophia Antipolis, November 19, 2015

A free Summit, hosted by ETSI, will consider whether standards and standards bodies are relevant to Open Source products and projects.

Major players from the Standardization and the Open Source industries, such as ETSI, OASIS, W3C, ECMA, ONF, OFE Open Forum Europe, OGF Open Grid Foundation and ECLIPSE will consider whether the advantages of Open Source - such as innovation, fast development and the involvement of a committed and innovative global community - can be brought in to the standards stream, which creates long-term stability and consensus building processes that sustain large and complex systems.

3GPP Companies and the mobile industry in general, are invited to attend and join the dialogue on ways that the two communities can move forward. Open Source Projects and key standardization activities such as NFV and IoT will be presented.

Future Radio Technologies – Air Interfaces

September 1, 2015

An ETSI Workshop on Future Radio Technologies, focusing on Air Interfaces, will take place on 27-28 January 2016 in ETSI, Sophia-Antipolis, France.
