WID page for further details. DTM
enhancements for reduction of the PS service interruption in DTM were completed
in Release 6 and focused on improving both the release of the RR connection
while in dual transfer mode and the initiation of the RR connection while in
packet transfer mode. It is thus
necessary to minimize the PS service interruption at handover in DTM to enable
the deployment of any real-time PS service also in DTM and ensure service
continuity with UTRAN. The
objective of this work item is to study possible solutions for handover of
dedicated and shared resources while in DTM
in order to
meet QoS requirements for conversational PS services and potentially
standardize a solution.

ASN.1
Feature: Handover of dedicated and shared
resources while in dual transfer mode
However,
the PS service interruption caused by a (CS) handover in DTM prevents real-time
PS services with strict delay requirements from being used in DTM (e.g. voice
call while gaming, voice call while sharing real-time video). While such
scenarios are possible in UTRAN, service continuity must also be ensured between
UTRAN and GERAN.
