Feature:     Interworking aspects and migration scenarios for IPv4 based IMS implementations

The 3GPP IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) uses exclusively IPv6. At the same time, it is appreciated that there will exist IPv4 based IMS implementations, namely initial IMS implementations and IMS implementations based on 3GPP2 specifications.

The purpose of the work item is to study interworking and migration scenarios related to IPv4 based IMS implementations. The study intends to provide guidelines for operators and vendors on interworking aspects of IPv4 based IMS implementations, and intends to provide guidelines on migrating to 3GPP IMS using IPv6.

Work to be led by S2.
