Change Requests This page contains informal descriptive text only. See master
WID page for further details. For optimal network coverage and
minimal interference with other services and with adjacent cells, it is
desirable for a network operator to have control over the tilt of its Node B
antennas. Such control is currently possible from the O&M
network via implementation-specific protocols between a Node B Element
Manager and the Node B itself. This makes it impossible to have a
multi-vendor mix of Nodes B and remote electrical tilting (RET) antennas. The objective of this feature
is: to specify a standardized
open interface between the Node B and the RET antenna; and to specify an appropriate
set of signalling commands and control parameters from the Network Manager
over the Ift-N interface.
