5, the IMS was defined to support IP Multimedia services. The feature set in
Release 5 provides a basis for IP Multimedia support. During release 6,
additional applications were developed, but due to IETF dependencies, such
applications could not be completed in release 6 The
objectives of this work item are to finalise Stage 3 work on postponed Release 6
features for IP multimedia applications in accordance with
existing
release 6 stage 1 requirements.

This item is to provide any additional specification at the Ut reference
point that may be necessary in support of conference control.

This item is to provide any additional specification that may be necessary
in support of floor control, and the appropriate SDP and conference policy
control to support provision of a floor control server.
Note: There is ongoing work in IETF XCON and MMUSIC groups that needs to be
taken into account in conjunction with this area.

Extensions
to conferencing related SIP procedures
This item
should take into account extensions to the conference package being defined to
take account of the XCON work, and to provide any additional specification that
may be necessary to enhance and extend SIP procedures that are related to IM CN
subsystem conferencing (e.g. SIP URI list service) to fulfil existing release 6
stage 1 requirements.

ongoing work in IETF XCON group that needs to be taken into account in
conjunction with this area.

IM CN
subsystem Group management for messaging
This item is to provide any additional specification at the Ut reference
point necessary to support the IM CN subsystem capabilities to facilitate
group-enabled services (e.g., chat). Mechanisms should cover both page-mode
messaging and session-mode messaging.
Note: There is ongoing work in IETF XCON and SIMPLE groups that needs to be
taken into account in conjunction with this area.
