Dear CN Member,

CN5 discovered that the Java code attached to the latest

CN5 has agreed by correspondence on 29 March 2004

No CR  modifying the Dec 2003 UML would be submitted in June 2004
because this would generate NEW Java code.

c)      Following the Parlay,TISPAN,CN5 JWG's rule to submit
        "CRs every 2nd CN plenary",
corrections-other-than-Java-code would be delayed to 2004-12.

This CN-approval by correspondence starts today 29 March 2004

We agreed that the changes proposed would be done in the specifications as editorials. This decision was wrong, and Adrian and I, during the last two weeks of plenaries, understood that an editorial update would not be acceptable due to its lack of visibility. This resulted in the problem that, since CN5 had agreed on the editorial way, the Java CRs were not presented to CN#23, and could only be presented to CN#24 in June. Since at the moment there is no correct Java code for our December specifications, this would mean presenting only Java CRs to CN#24 in June, so as not to modify the December UML, and therefore delay any other CRs until CN#25 in September. During the weeks since the Atlanta meeting I believe we have all understood better the urgency of having a correct Java code for the December version of our specifications. This, together with the resulting delays in other CRs described in the previous paragraph, has lead the CN5 officers to propose the following solution: to have a CN email approval of these CRs, as soon as possible. The CN chairman and MCC management have kindly agreed on this solution that allows us to have correct Java code for the December UML asap, and to continue business as usual without further delays for CRs involving UML next plenary. Therefore, before the end of today Ultan will send to this exxploder the set of CRs that are intended for CN email approval. Please review them during this week. Unless there is any objection, these CRs will be sent to CN on Monday March 29. Please note that we have already agreed on the code contained in these CRs, and this week's review is only intended for all of us to understand how we're handling them, and to check the package that will go to the CN plenary. Therefore I believe one week is enough time for all of you to give us a green light. Best regards, Chelo. Deadline 10AM Monday 29th March/0Lc?y"h, c?y"h, Dear colleagues, Following Chelo's message below, I have uploaded the CRs which propose to correct the J2SE code in our spec__substg1.0_0E270102*p__substg1.0_1000001E*__substg1.0_1008001E*e__substg1.0_10090102*w ifications. They are numbered N5-040226, N5-040228 to N5-040241 inclusive, and can be found at: http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/tsg_cn/WG5_osa/TSGN5_27_Miami/Docs/ The Java code in these CRs has already been made available to you, and has been checked - I sent an e-mail on the 2nd of March with a link to where you could find it, and no objections to its use have been received since then. I have only changed the name of each zip file to match MCC's recommended naming of the files - I have not touched the contents of the Java code zip files - the files are identical to those already made available to you. If there is no objection sent to this mailing list by Monday 29th March 10am CET, these CRs will be considered as approved by CN5 and will be forwarded to TSG CN for approval by correspondance.
