Conferences endorsed by 3GPP

Other conferences of interest to the 3GPP Community

 

3GPP will consider endorsing conferences organized by third parties under the following circumstances:

• The conference is directly relevant to and supportive of 3GPP technologies.
• The conference organizer has a proven history of running successful conferences in the field.
• The scope and geographical catchment area of the conference are appropriate.

3GPP endorsement entails:

• publicizing the event on this web page, including hosting the organizer's brochure and providing links to appropriate supporting material on the organizer's own web site;
• making available printed brochures at selected 3GPP meeting venues, especially those hosted at or near the Support Team's base in southern France; (between 15% and 20% of the 200 or so meetings per year of 3GPP groups take place at our home base)
• if mutually convenient, fielding a speaker / session chairman / discussion panel member.

Note that 3GPP will not send any publicity material to its members by email, either direct or via exploder lists, nor will it permit its exploder lists to be used for any purpose beyond the direct technical work of 3GPP.  Any individual or organization using 3GPP exploder lists for commercial purposes will be removed from all lists and disbarred from rejoining.

In return for endorsement, 3GPP expects:

• 3GPP logo to appear on all conference materials (brochures, synopsis, other marketing supports, etc);
• 3GPP logo to appear on conference web site, hyperlinked to our home page;
• short write up about 3GPP on appropriate conference materials;
• a discount (typically 15%) on attendance fees for representatives of 3GPP member organizations;
• where mutually convenient, the offer of a slot for a 3GPP presentation and/or session chairmanship and/or expert panel.

3GPP is not a commercial organization and does not itself have funds for presentations to conferences.  Therefore, if a presentation / chairman / panel position is offered and accepted, it is on the understanding that the conference organizer:

• waives any participation fees; and
• considers meeting in full or in part the travel and accommodation costs of the speaker.

The foregoing represents general guidelines for 3GPP endorsements of conferences.  These terms may be varied to suit the parties on a case by case basis.  Every endorsement needs the agreement of the 3GPP PCG.
